Veterans Memorial Park Renovation

Out of our great respect for the veterans and our country, AMS would like to assist the City of Artesia and the local veterans in creating a design that will enhance the image of the park, allowing it to be utilized more frequently by the community. Artesia MainStreet looks forward to working with the veterans and the American Legion on creating a design that will enhance the park visually. Included in this design is a magnificent bronze statue called “Freedom’s Fire”. This statue, in addition to the improvements made in memory of our veterans will greatly enhance Memorial Park. We would also install permanent flag holders to aid the veterans in setting up the annual flag memorial to fallen veterans. Wall of Honor

The Wall of Honor is to recognize all local U.S. servicemen and women, living or deceased, who have copleted honorable service during times of conflict and/or non-conflict at any period from July 4th, 1776 to the present. This is to include service in the regular, militia, or reserves of our nation's services: Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, Air Force and those that served in the Merchant Marine during World War II (December 7, 1941 - August 15, 1945).

All Veterans who are listed by our local American Legion as purchasing a flag that has been used in past celebrations will be included on the Wall at no cost to that veteran or their family.
