Artesia was designated a New Mexico Arts & Cultural District by the New Mexico Arts Commission in November 2013.  The Arts and Cultural District program was  established as a comprehensive economic development strategy designed to capitalize on the expanding creative economy.

The Artesia ACD mission is guided by five pillars: collaboration, promotion, production, advocacy, and education. Our mission is to:

     o  Promote Artesia’s artistic, historic, cultural and community assets and even

     o  Create opportunities for arts and cultural production and consumption within the District

     o  Advocate for importance of arts and cultural education

     o  Build the social, physical, and economic wellness of our community through arts and cultural.
